hi! my name is shemayah and this is my portfolio website :) hope you like it!

- recent projects -

9th of july 2026

i've been making my own books!

i'd love to show you some examples :)

so for this first one i used some leftover graph paper and a piece of leftover thick paper as the cover!

i saw a video that inspired me on making your own pocket notebooks, that's what started this

as you can see, i put everything together with the use of a stapler!

this next one i used an old postcard i bought somewhere:

it was one that had already been written and sent, i thought that was such a cute detail!

i have this cutter that makes round corners and i've been using it a lot! it really helps giving it that finished look

one of my favorite little books is this thicker one, it's SO cute (⸝⸝๑﹏๑⸝⸝)

this time i made 2 signatures and stapled each of them to make a thicker book!

the cover is made from a teabox :3 reaaally good earl grey tea from demeter, i highly recommend if you like that kinda stuff

i also decided to make my own sketchbook out of some thicker paper

long story short, this paper had emotional value for me, so using it felt immensely rewarding to use it!!!

i think the paper was happy that it was given new life and purpose :)

after finishing this one, i made a nice cover for it and called it a day!

now with this next project, i decided to make a book for a friends birthday :D

me and another friend/precious colleage gathered some amazing doodles and i photoshopped them to a lesser opacity, printed them onto tomoe river paper and bound it all together!

honestly binding SUCH thin paper (52g/m2) is CRAZY challenging

tuesday the 30th of july 2026 - currently on holiday, sitting in my room at night :)

this video is the last one i will make using mainly my handycam! that's why this is kind of styled like a compilation, showing highlights from every month! from right after the camping trip it shows september until february in all it's glory from my humble perspective.

i really enjoyed looking through the drawings i made in my diary and re-living all those past months, to select the ones i liked most and edit them into the video.

honestly i can't wait until my videos upgrade to a better quality, so i am able to show those types of drawings, titles and animations in way better quality! because although it's a vibe, the readability suffers from it...

and again i loved using 9sphere's music, it's always a puzzle! but if it clicks, it clicks :)

in the mean time i got myself a new camera and i'm constantly testing things out and searching for the future of my videos! i make sure to write my ideas down and work them out someday.

december 2025

this video is about a camping trip i made in june of 2025

this is the first time i decided to take my tripod with me on a holiday and i have zero regrets

i especially love the parts where i made the effort to prop it up next to me and film my drawing/creative processes! those moments themselves were already so nice, but to have good footage of it makes the moment shine even more to me! making shots of my surroundings with the tripod felt so natural and i loved taking it around with me, although i did leave it in the tent whenever we would go on longer walks and ended up relying on some warp stabiliser afterwards to fix most of the (unintentional) shaking ;)

this wasn't the first time for me to incorporate little drawings of mine into the video, but i felt the need to push myself a little more this time to make small animations. they accompany you while watching the video log!

i felt a little rushed to make this video and hurried to work on the next one! that's because i'm sitting on a huge backlog of footage and have so many ideas for new videos!

after the making of this video, i really am considering to buy a higher quality camera!!! the shots are so nice, but on a big screen you can feel the loss of pixels that should have been there. i started out with this handycam to make my editing life easier, the files lighter, the threshold lower, but i feel like i've absolutely officially outgrown it </3

this was an invitation i made for a market! i sold some self made stuff there!

(i blurred the adress)

the official flyer for the event, i put together :D

this was a mixed media project i did for the battle of the bits

this 'comic' was a project i did for the battle of the bits,

this is an invitation to my housewarming i made! i love playing around with mixed media and i feel like this really shows that off!

the participants had one month to complete a 'one page comic', very fun!!

mine was drawn by hand with a glass dip pen and some brown ink, later on i scanned the drawings and put the comic together with some halftone patterns to give the panels some borders

^ some drawings i've recently made :)

this is a poster i made as a present for ramses' (my bf's nephew) first birthday!

all the drawings were drawn by hand on paper, scanned in and coloured in with various textures and existing photos
